Obama: “We do not believe that anybody is entitled to success in this country”
The President showed his true central planning bent at a rally today. He wants to “channel” (his words) your efforts for the greater good. If he gives you money, you can buy a car. Never mind that money was reallocated from a more productive sector of the economy. Or worse, borrowed from China. That isn’t how the economy works. He doesn’t get it. He fundamentally doesn’t understand. Someone tell Joe Biden that is why the middle class has been buried for the last four years.
You can’t give borrowed money to the middle class and grow our economy. If you could simply print money and sprinkle fairy dust then his $1T stimulus and three rounds of the Fed printing money via QE1-2&3 would have worked. No, the middle class grows when the economy grows. They are the backbone and beneficiaries of a robust economy. His talk of fairness is offensive. He ‘slipped’ during the debate and said “everyone getting a fair share”. That of course is what he really meant.
Mr President, fairness means everyone has the equal chance to succeed. Yes, the same rules for everyone. It does NOT mean we reallocate the results after the investment, work and sacrifice has been completed. The irony here of course is he does believe others are entitled to your success.
“This country does not just succeed when just a few are doing well at the top,” Obama said, according to a rush transcript of the remarks. “It succeeds when the middle class gets bigger. Our economy does not grow from the top-down, it grows from the middle-out. We do not believe that anybody is entitled to success in this country. But we do believe in opportunity. We believe in a country where hard work pays off and responsibilities are rewarded and everybody is getting a fair shot and everybody’s doing their fair share. And everybody’s paying by the same rules. That is the country believe in. That is what we have been fighting for the last four years. That is what we’re going to put in place in the next four years if you reelect me as president of the United States of America.” – President Obama
