Right now, the Supreme Court is hearing arguments from this administration as to why a Christian business should be forced to pay for birth control coverage for its employees. In addition to stealing personal liberties from you, Obamacare also wants to strip your religious protections as well.
Meanwhile, the administration has issued the 532nd delay or change to Obamacare. Apparently the already extended March 31st deadline wasn’t long enough to cook the books so… we will extend the deadline if you tell us you tried to get covered but had challenges. No proof necessary, our incompetence is well documented.
So, the business mandates and individual mandates can be waived at will. Deadlines can be moved past the next election cycle. Documenting program results or patient eligibility are not required. BUT, recognizing religious rights is an affront to the ‘settled law’.
This is where my head explodes.
I get the Democratic narrative here. All the changes to Obamacare via FIAT are for political reasons. They are grossly unconstitutional and threaten our Republic. Yet I understand Obama doesn’t care, is acting in his self-interest and the GOP are too cowardly to challenge him. I also understand the real reason the contraception mandate is important has nothing to do with the viability of the law. It is simply an extension of war on religion being waged by the left and necessary to continue the War on Women narrative. Despicable, but right in line with Radical Progressive strategies. I expect such behavior.
That said, I am at a loss when I review the actions of the Supreme Court. I know I shouldn’t be anymore but somehow I am. 9 people charged with upholding the Constitution. Only 3 understand this. 2 refer to the document part of the time. 4 are actively trying to rewrite the Constitution from the bench. We already have lost a massive portion of our personal liberties due to Obamacare. Must we lose religious freedom as well. This country was founded by people seeking freedom from religious persecution. Right now, our government is telling Marines to take bible passages off their walls and arguing against religious freedom. Start pusing back before it is too late.
Have to give it to the liberals… they stick by their fundimental strategies… since they can never defend just attack and disparage.
Five years ago, the Tea Party launched itself onto the American political scene – pushing hard against ObamaCare, the $787-billion stimulus and Big Government. On Feb. 27, 2009, Tea Party protests were held in more than 40 cities.
But rather than treat the Tea Party as a standard protest movement, the American media closed ranks with the left and spent much of the last five years attacking them. The Tea Party has been called “racist,” “homophobic,” “terrorists” and “wingnuts.” It has also been accused of causing “economic destruction.” The media tried to link Tea Partiers to the attack on then-Rep. Gabrielle “Gabby” Giffords, D-Ariz., and the Aurora theater shooting.
By contrast, the media lionized the Occupy Wall Street movement, though Occupiers openly called for “revolution,” even marching down the street carrying banners with that battle cry, or sometimes communist flags. According to OccupyArrests.com, there have been 7,765 arrests of that group. Arrests ranged from rape and assaults on police to vandalism, rioting and arson. Five Cleveland Occupiers were even arrested in a bombing plot.
The Tea Party events that were almost universally peaceful never received the same kind of positive coverage. Instead, Tea Partiers were often treated like Hezbollah by a media embracing liberal talking points at every turn.

“The parade is quintessentially Catholic, beginning with a Mass in St. Patrick’s Cathedral. It is this Catholic element that angers those who are engaged in a bullying campaign against the St. Patrick’s Day parades. The bullies also have nothing but contempt for the constitutional rights of Irish Catholics.”
Moreover, Donohue explained that:
No gay person has ever been barred from marching in any St. Patrick’s Day parade, anymore than the parade bans pro-life Catholics or vegetarian Catholics; they simply cannot march under their own banner. The parade has one cause: honoring St. Patrick. Those who disagree do not have to march–that’s what diversity is all about.
Normally I am a HUGE Thomas Sewell fan. He is brilliant. On this case I disagree. The attached link is to an article where he argues two fallacies. First, is that the GOP will lose the Senate if the Tea Party, or as he calls them “true conservatives” keep attacking the GOP and second, that Mitch McConnell is a conservative. The second first, I don’t’ care what his voting score is, the Minority leader has been an abomination in the Senate these past few years. Reid has turned the body into a dictatorship under his watch. Only the House leadership is worse. #EpicFail.
As for true conservatives attacking Reid and risking control of the Senate. False. The reverse is true. It is the establishment attacking the base that is putting the Senate at risk. It is Karl Rove and old Mitchy that have openly attacked the conservative base of the party.
“I think we are going to crush them everywhere,” McConnell said. “I don’t think they are going to have a single nominee anywhere in the country.”
He is talking about the Tea Party here. Not Democrats. Not Radical Progressives. Nope. The Tea Party. The group that delivered a House majority in 2010. They have gone out of their way to pick this fight. Dole, McCain, Romney – did not excite the base. We lost 2012 because 3M conservatives stayed home or voted for a 3rd party. It’s time for this party to find its base again. I will no longer hold my nose and vote for a lousy candidate just because they are from the GOP. That only rewards this type of behavior.
Obama has illegally suspended more of Obamacare than Cruz filibustered to legally change. McConnell vilified him for that. The left has gone hard left and our response has wrongly been to move left with them. Enough. And if the party establishment wants the conservative base to stop fighting and stop supporting them – they need to do the same. They have taken our vote for granted for years. We are angry for a reason.
What if citizens would stop paying taxes, or refuse to participate in Social Security? If the executive branch can countermand a law of Congress, why can’t the voters – those who grant Congress its authority – do the same?
No where did it say “No LGBT Allowed” – They only said, this isn’t a gay pride march. Guess what? They flipped out.
Repeat – NO ONE WAS EXCLUDED. The Parade organizers simply said this event (you know, the one celebrating a Catholic Saint) is not a platform for other issues. Please, particiapte, but don’t make this about you.
Not good enough. Inclusion isn’t enough. Acceptance isn’t a sign of acceptance. Nope. Me using your event to showcase my issues – that’s true tolerance.
Pretty disappointed in some of my favorite beer makers for caving to the PC police. This isn’t even PC for goodness sake. The parade was doing nothing to protest them. It simply didn’t want to draw attention to and put their issue center. Shock. A private organization wants to set its own agenda. Celebrate their issue and not yours. THE NERVE. The St Patrick’s Day Parade is about celebrating Irish heritage. Why does everything need to become a platform for intolerance. Oh, and it’s those seeking acceptance that are the intolerant ones.
Dear Radical Liberals, you have the same rights as everyone else. You don’t get extra ones. Happy St Patrick’s Day
