Elbert Guillory: “Why I Am a Republican”

What a great eloquent dissertation on why all black Americans should abandon the democrat party. If… and hopefully when… this message permeates the hopelessness and slavery that is the democrat welfare state meant to keep the black man down and compliant is heard… maybe there will be a sea change. Of course the democrats cannot have this so Elbert must and will be destroyed. Starting in 5…4…3…2…1…

Fox News Chairman Ailes Acceptance Speech

Fox has been under fire since day one of Obama.   Unlike the Big 3, Fox continues to press on.  Maybe that’s why they are rated #1…

He gave a speech today.  A small sample, link to the full text below. Begin.

“We have allowed ourselves to be manipulated by others, many of whom want to  impose their culture and laws under the manufactured utopian idea that all  cultures are equal and most are better than America’s. Of course all people  should be proud of their heritage. They should teach their children to be proud  of their history and traditions.

“Immigrants will always be welcome here. But America is a culture, too…

“Regardless of your political party there are some themes that I believe we  should all agree on: Government must reinforce the value of the individual and  life. Government must have programs to help individual independence flourish and  not reinforce dependency. Votes must not be purchased by corrupt organizations  or individuals on false missions of mercy. Freedom cannot be compromised  anywhere. Anti-Americanism needs to be answered every place, every time. By  every one of us.

“I mentioned earlier that American culture is unique and must be included in  all discussions of culture. It is America that has fed more and freed more  people on earth than all the other countries put together. You know how I know  this is a great country? Because everybody is trying to get in, and nobody is  trying to get out.

“I have heard complicated treatises on world affairs. I have listened to  theories of foreign policy. I have listened to the criticism of the United  States. I’ve watched even some Americans systematically try to dismantle the  greatest country on earth and yet we are still strong. We’re strong, because of  three words I believe, God, country, family.

“I cannot and will not apologize for any of those and anything that enhances  those, I will defend them with my life.

“Thank you. And God bless you all.”

Congress leaving over Obamacare – with a twist

When I read the headline, I assumed it was cowardly democratic Senators and Congressmen opting to not run for re-election so they didn’t have to face angry votes over skyrocketing healthcare costs courtesy of Obamacare.  Nope.  Members of Congress and their staffers are considering “retiring” so they can get grandfathered on the existing Congressional healthcare plan instead of being dumped into an Obamacare exchange as required by law.  The rationale?  The new plans are prohibitively expensive and not as good.

Congress wrote the ACA specifically to not exempt themselves.  Now they want out.  They subjected the entire nation to this abomination and they want out.

Rep. John Larson, a Connecticut Democrat in leadership when the law passed,  said he thinks the problem will be resolved.  “If not, I think we should begin an immediate amicus brief to say, ‘Listen  this is simply not fair to these employees,’” Larson told POLITICO. “They are  federal employees.”

It could be politically difficult to change this provision. The provision was  put in the bill in the first place on the theory that if Congress was going to  make the country live under the provisions of Obamacare, the members and staff  should have to as well.

Not fair Federal employees?  Who gives a shit.  Comments like that make me want to puke.  How arrogant.  What about the American People?  Let them eat cake?  Where is their concern for the rest of the nation being subjected to these cost increases and coverage declines?  This is hopelessly tragic.  Obamacare was always about centralizing power in Washington.  It was always about creating an entitlement that would generate a permanent voting bloc for Democrats.  If you truly believe the Democrats passed this for all their self-professed ideals about helping thy neighbor well… then I have a healthcare plan I would like to sell you.

Repeal this.  Defund this.  Stop this.

Trust Me

The President warns that we have big problems when the people stop trusting Government and not to worry.. there is oversight on the NSA monitoring program.  You know, the one where they track all your calls, emails, internet.

This from the man who learned of the IRS, Benghazi, and DOJ scandals from the news media.  Oversight is working perfectly Barry.  What is there to worry about.

Oh, and then there is this gem from James Clapper – the head of the NSA when asked if he lied to Congress

So I responded in what I thought was the most truthful, or least untruthful manner by saying no.

The least untruthful manner.  You can’t make this stuff up.  If congress was briefed and providing oversight, why did he need to be least untruthful in the first place.

I feel safer already

Rand Paul Editorial on NSA Monitoring Americans

There is certainly a balance between safety and liberty.  As citizens, we voluntarily make the choice every time we fly.  Or want access to a public venue.  But am I making that choice as I type this blog?  Or is Obama making it for me?  The Government is monitoring your health records, tax records and apparently your phone, email and internet usage.  The last three are in the name of public safety.  Really? I thought there wasn’t a war on terror.  Don’t think for a minute they can not identify you with the ‘anonymous’ data they are collecting.  Of course they can.  There is no opt out.    It is shocking to me the number of people who support this or think they have ‘nothing to hide’.

No Government should be trusted to wield this much power over the citizens they were elected to serve.  There is no accountability.  No real oversight.  No real understanding of how the information is used.  There is a track record of men in power from both parties abusing that power.  There is a track record of this President LYING to the American people.  Often.  It can’t be legal if it violates the 4th Ammendment.  It is certainly dangerous.

Here is a conspiracy theory for you:  Obama’s team is widely lauded for how they were able to use DATA to effectively fund raise and get out the vote.  We already know they used the EPA, NLRB and IRS to suppress voting.  Can we be certain they didn’t use PRISM or lessons learned from it to get re-elected?  Even if they didn’t, doesn’t it concern you they could have?  Shouldn’t it?

Lastly – I read a great analogy yesterday and the Senator uses it here as well.  One of the flash points that lead to the American Revolution was the ‘generalized warrants’ British soldiers had to enter and search your home.  No suspicion was required.  They could enter, search and if they found something, arrest you.  How is the digital monitoring of what you do, without probable cause, really different.  It doesn’t matter that I have nothing to hide.  The Government has no right to check unless I give them cause.

What is objectionable is a system in which government has unlimited and privileged access to the details of our private affairs, and citizens are simply supposed to trust that there won’t be any abuse of power. This is an absurd expectation. Americans should trust the National Security Agency as much as they do the IRS and Justice Department.

Monitoring the records of as many as a billion phone calls, as some news reports have suggested, is no modest invasion of privacy. It is an extraordinary invasion of privacy. We fought a revolution over issues like generalized warrants, where soldiers would go from house to house, searching anything they liked. Our lives are now so digitized that the government going from computer to computer or phone to phone is the modern equivalent of the same type of tyranny that our Founders rebelled against.

Immigration Reform? The President Says Trust Me. Representative King says, “No”

The old guard republican caucus is lost.  So mired in politics, they have lost their way.  Their compass no longer points true north.  THAT is why we lost the election.  Well that and illegal voter suppression from the IRS and a cover up of 4 deaths in Benghazi.  Put aside the issue for a second.  Irrespective of your stance on immigration reform, ask yourself why the GOP continues to agree to these back room deals with the Democrats?  FOLLOW THE RULE OF LAW.  Allow BOTH Houses of Congress to debate and legislate.  Get our Republic out of the back rooms and into the light.   The same thing is already happening with the next debt deal.  ENOUGH.

When President Obama came before House Republicans in March, King recalls, he told his political opponents, “You will never win another national election again until you pass comprehensive immigration reform. Republicans, I am trying to help you.”  The Iowan retorts, “I don’t know how any Republicans can think it’s a good idea to take that kind of political help from the president. He’s not trying to help us.”

In fact, King believes the bill will create a permanent Democratic majority, something he implored his colleagues to heed at the RSC meeting.

“What they are seeking to do is convert the Hispanic vote into a monolithic voting bloc, very similar to that of African Americans. They know how to do it, they succeeded with the African-American vote.”

Jobs Report – Obamanomics continues to fail, no one cares

Amatuer in the White House.  I am assuming his excuse for this horrid report is he was too busy tracking your email, phone, credit cards etc…  From Human Events:

http://www.humanevents.com/2013/06/07/the-phony-baloney-jobs-report/

Of the 175,000 jobs supposedly created in May (wait for the downward revision next month), 122,000 were in low wage industries. Just take one key industry with good jobs and high wages- manufacturing. Jobs in that industry were NEGATIVE 8000 in May. Why isn’t the media reporting these facts? You mean no one cares about the quality of jobs? You mean if the average college graduate has to ask “Would you like a free milk shake with your Big Mac,” as long as they are employed, the media believes we are in “recovery?”

More proof of the horrible quality of the jobs created: the average hourly earnings of American workers was flat again. Meaning American workers no longer remember what a raise looks like. So wages are stagnating or declining, even while the cost of goods they need (gas for their auto, home heating oil, groceries) continue to skyrocket. Even while higher taxes decrease take-home pay. The media continues to lie and call this a “recovery” even though the average middle class American keeps falling further and further behind.

Then we get to key statistics under the headline for May- the news here is all bad:

U6 (the most accurate look at unemployment) is just below 14%.

The Labor Force Participation Rate is still near all-time lows (at 63.4%).

The number of unemployed workers was unchanged (at 11.8 million).

Black unemployment is a disgraceful 13.5%.

Hispanic unemployment is 9.1%.

Teen unemployment is 24.5%.

The number of long term unemployed workers (27 weeks or longer) is unchanged (at 4.4 million).

The number of involuntary part-time workers (caused by the economy) is unchanged (at 7.9 million).
